As world leaders in neuroscience, our work dives deep into brain diseases, lighting up pathways to better patient care.
Our research focuses on genomics and epigenetics of neurodegenerative diseases (Dementia, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, motor neurone disease), psychiatric disorders, rare diseases and unique genetic cohorts. We explore everything from fundamental biomedical science to creating and providing treatments for individuals and larger communities.
We are 11th in the UK for internationally excellent research in Psychology. Our strengths span visual perception, social psychology, cognition, and more. We can work with you to explore external funding opportunities to deliver key collaborative R&D projects.

Our Bioscience expertise spans various scientific fields, from evolutionary genetics to translational medicine and personalised healthcare. We delve into the chemistry and biology of our natural world, generating new knowledge and addressing crucial societal concerns.
We are particularly interested in infectious diseases with a world-leading research centre dedicated to tackling the major global threats to human health caused by fungal diseases. We invite collaboration proposals for new clinical trials.
In the last five years, we have invested in supporting commercial clinical trial setup and delivery. A proficient Clinical Trials Lead and experienced clinicians and academics with a global reputation in clinical trials delivery oversee trials.
The state-of-the-art Mireille Gillings Neuroimaging Centre offers a distinct opportunity for trial delivery and patient benefits. We collaborate closely with the Royal Devon University Hospital (RDUH) to deliver these services. Focus areas include Neuroimaging, Parkinson's, and Alzheimer's.
Our specialised Health Technology Assessment Unit (PENTAG) conducts assessments for national policymakers in England and Wales.
